Founded in 1906, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is the world’s leading organization for the preparation and publication of International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. These are known collectively as “electrotechnology” IEC provides a platform to companies, industries and governments for meeting, discussing and developing the International Standards they require.

ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 164 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
Founded in 1865 to facilitate international connectivity in communications networks, we allocate global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develop the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strive to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide. Standards Australia is the country’s leading independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit standards organisation. They are also Australia’s representatives of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Standards Australia are specialists in the development and adoption of internationally-aligned standards in Australia. They also make sure the country has a voice in international standards development. Although they develop standards, they are not responsible for enforcing, regulating or certifying compliance with those standards.
